Me Highway 60 cut across Spottsville. A Green River runs through Spottsville, & a Green River Lock & Damn is located in the city. From either 1904 to 1911 when many as 116 men of the Green River Coal Company mined coal in Spottsville. So a Pittsburg Coal Company operated a 75-human coal camp within Spottsville from either 1911 to 1924.
